Hong Kong Centre for Carbon Innovation (HKCCI) is led by the Edinburgh Centre for Carbon Innovation (ECCI) and is part of the University of Edinburgh (UoE). Our Partners include Edinburgh Napier University, BRE Scotland, and the Scottish Government (through Scottish Development International). HKCCI supports the exchange of know-how, enterprises and people with expertise in low-carbon solutions, clean energy, and UoE's world-famous biomedical sciences between Scotland and the Hong Kong and Chinese markets.
Specifically HKCCI provides the platform for ECCI and the University of Edinburgh to undertake and sustain innovation, learning and research activities in Hong Kong and China that will generate impact pathways and commercial revenue.
The Centre builds upon a 2013 Memorandum of Understanding between the Hong Kong Government and the Scottish Government, and on the extensive alumni networks of the University of Edinburgh and the Global Scot networks and activities, to develop closer partnerships between Hong Kong and Scotland to address the key challenges presented through climate change and our transition to a lower carbon economy.
HKCCI is wholly owned by University of Edinburgh. We aim to establish ourselves into a reputable hub for education, research and development, and application of world-class low carbon solutions with strong partnership among the UK, HK and China.
